Inspired by the geometric photo border once stamped by Elko Photo Finishing Co. of Kansas City from the 1920s through the 1940s. Back then, photo labs added these bold Art Deco frames to snapshots as a kind of signature—quietly branding everyday moments with style. This belt reimagines that forgotten border in leather and studs.

I kept seeing the pattern as a belt. So I brought it to life the only way I know how: with leather, studs, and intention.

The finished belt carries a quiet echo of early Southwest design—its symmetry and metal-on-leather layout falling somewhere between a photograph’s edge and the strong geometry of Fred Harvey–era silverwork. Both traditions value long history, bold lines, and the story told through craft.
